FAQs

  • I see patients ages 12 and older.

  • Yes.

As a physician, I am trained to prescribe psychiatric medication when it may be helpful. Medication decisions are made collaboratively and thoughtfully as part of an overall treatment plan.

  • Yes.

When clinically appropriate, I prescribe certain controlled medications as part of a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment plan. Medication decisions are made on an individual basis following a thorough assessment.

  • Most patients are seen weekly for psychotherapy. For patients receiving medication management without psychotherapy, visits are typically scheduled at least once every three months. The recommended frequency of sessions is discussed during the initial evaluation and may change over time depending on clinical needs.

  • I am not in-network with insurance plans.

However, many patients are able to use their out-of-network benefits if they have a PPO insurance plan. The process generally works as follows:

    1. Payment for sessions is due at the time of the appointment.

    2. My practice submits a receipt (called a superbill) to your insurance company on your behalf through a service called Reimbursify.

    3. Once your deductible has been met, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the session fee. Depending on your plan, reimbursement is often 50–80% of the cost.

Because insurance plans vary widely, I recommend contacting your insurer directly to learn more about your out-of-network mental health benefits. You may also request a verification of benefits through the Reimbursify link at the bottom of this website.

  • If you have a PPO insurance plan, you can check your benefits by clicking the Use Your Insurance link at the bottom of this website. This will take you to Reimbursify, where you can enter your insurance information to see whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits and what your reimbursement may be (including your deductible and reimbursement percentage).

You may also submit your contact information through the Contact Me button, and we can review your benefits with you during the initial phone call. In some cases, you may need to contact your insurance carrier directly for confirmation.

To make the out-of-network reimbursement process easier, my practice submits superbills to your insurance company on your behalf through Reimbursify after each session.
